Course Description-introduction to church administration and management of non- profit organizations. It is designed to inform and educate students regarding management principles, procedures, techniques, theory, and practice for leading and managing churches and non-profit organizations. The course applies a problem-solving approach to the subjects of management, administration, supervision, organization, leadership, church government, finance, and legal issues relevant to ministers and lay leaders.
Course ObjectivesUpon completion of the course, students will be able to:

003. CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP
What is Christian leadership? Who is a leader? This course enables students to answer these questions through the lens of Jesus Christ.
The Christian Leadership course at united Christian bible university is designed to help those involved in various areas of Christian leadership and ministry to be better equipped to take on the wide variety of challenges and opportunities leadership provides. Students will be led through the foundational aspects and implications of leadership, and encouraged to explore and reflect on the many dimensions Christian leadership encompasses and challenged to find ways of applying what they learn to their own areas of service to God and his people.

005. CHURCH LEADERSHIP AND ADMINISTRATION
Purpose of the Course
The purpose of this course is to provide the student with the basics of Christian leadership and administration build around servant and transformational leadership principles.

006. MEDIA IN MINISTRY
The church is experiencing a time of profound change in communication. More and more often churches use new technologies to transmit and communicate the message of the Gospel and it is done in an ever more creative way. Not only that, but also church activities are often shared to a wider audience via social media. Through the Media Creative Ministry we provide the basic knowledge about different communication methods (video, audio, photography) that are useful for the church in this area. The programme is structured in such a way that the student learns to use P.A. systems, cameras and video cameras. During the year they are assigned a number of projects which give them the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge acquired.
A. WRTING TECHNIQUES
In this course, students explore a range of creative writing genres, including fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, drama, and multimedia writing. They study examples of classic and contemporary selections, apply what they learn to their own writing, and develop proficiency in the writing process. They learn to evaluate the writings of others and apply evaluation criteria to their own work. By the end of the course, students will have created a well-developed portfolio of finished written works.

B. BOOK PUBLISHING
Digital and E-Book Publishing
This course will provide a history of digital books and context for understanding how digital advances and eBooks have affected the publishing industry, consumer habits, and reading. The course exposes students to practical wisdom from experts across the publishing and book industry. Students will learn about eBook production and design; SEO and metadata; digital and online marketing; social media; audio books, and sales. Students will write a reader’s report, a response-paper to an audio book, and create a design memo. For their final group project students will edit, distribute and market an original eBook across platforms, and present their collaborative work at “sales conference” at the end of the semester.
Introduction to Publishing
This required course offers students a dynamic overview of the book publishing industry, including book acquisitions, editing, design and production, sales, marketing, advertising, corporate management, law and finance.
Publishing Practicum
Students simulate the complete book-publishing process from contract negotiations to bound book. Prerequisite: Introduction to Publishing.
Books for Young Readers
A look at the world of publishing for children and young adults. Licensing, merchandising, sales and marketing to all age groups and reader categories will be discussed. Includes substantial reading of children's titles.
The Editorial Process
An in-depth look at the editorial process from a corporate and employment-seeking perspective. Includes visits from authors and industry professionals.
Fundamentals of Copyediting and proofreading
An intensive course focusing on a variety of texts including fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks and references. Students will employ universal copyediting/proofreading symbols in type-marking manuscripts and learn design coding; drafting of style sheets; querying; and preparing a manuscript for author review, etc. Prerequisite or co-requisite: Introduction to Publishing.
Legal Issues in Publishing and the Arts
A course covering the crucial clauses in an author-publisher contract; intellectual property issues; the First Amendment; general copyright matters; defamation; invasion of privacy; obscenity; and internet copyright issues.
C. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Digital Photography is a yearlong introduction to the digital camera as an art-making tool designed for students at the beginning level. The course will use digital photography to help students learn and apply the basic elements of art and the principles of design. This course will also provide students with opportunities to extend their knowledge and skills in the field of photography and the use of Adobe Photoshop and Light room. Digital Photography will familiarize the student with digital photographic equipment, materials, methods, and processes. Visual problem solving skills are explored through the use of the computer as the main tool for creative expression and communication. Cell phone photography and editing with a variety of phone applications will be infused in the curriculum. Students create their own blog sites as a place to exhibit their projects and portfolio work. Self promotion of student photography is encouraged and beginning social media marketing is introduced. Students can earn certifications in the field of digital photography. Course is articulated with Chaffey College and San Bernardino Valley College.

Written Photo Critiques: This is a writing assignment that will be attached to all photo assignments. Students will critique one intriguing photograph, which relates to the current assignment and explain what makes it a good photograph. Have you discovered the unique purpose God has for your life? What drives you? Who are the people you most want to help? What cause are you passionate about?
An environment which promotes individual learning helps develop knowledge and skills as well as identifying areas where growth is needed in order to fulfil the call of God. This is the purpose of the Creative Ministry module which provides hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply Bible principles in practical and focused ways.

B.DIGITAL VIDEO AND FILM PRODUCTION
CURRICULUM OF STUDY FOR DIGITAL VIDEO FILM PRODUCTION
COURSE FOCUS: This course; Christian Film Production Arts is an answer to the yearnings of hundreds of Nigerian Christians and others who wish to study and gain wide knowledge in the use of the Digital Video Technology for film production in a regular academic environment.
COURSE OBJECTIVE: The course is aimed and making the students understand the various fields of film productions. It is expected that at the end of the course, students should be able practice in any of the fields and also be able to determine the area field they wish to fully specialise in.
COURSE CONTENT: This is the beginners’ class during which basic terminologies of film production are taught. Students are also taken through the rudiments of film productions. In addition, they are introduced to the various aspects of film productions.
OBJECTIVE: To make students acquire and improve skills/techniques for writing excellent plays and screenplays for movies and television.

COURSE CONTENTS: The course is a complete planning guide for would-be producers and production managers, creating a detailed approach to handling film making at the stages of pre-production, production and post-production.

COURSE CONTENT: The making of screen actors is the basic focus of this course with a view to distinguishing it from stage acting. The course builds a pattern for the growth and development of film actors from the “green horns” to “celebrated stars”

COURSE CONTENT: The course include of study of market trends as it affects the film industry and an appraisal of the efforts of the major players in the industry both locally and globally. The course shall also help students to explore the great open doors that exist in the online movie market.

OBJECTIVE: To bring students to a level where they can attempt to direct movies on their own after the course.
COURSE CONTENT: The course seeks to demystify the work and office of a movie director making it possible for even the “minimally gifted” good enough to direct a movie.

OBJECTIVE: Designed for the computer literate students with a view to introducing them to the world of non-linear editing & special effects.
COURSE CONTENTS: The course employs the use of 70% practicals to bring the students to a level where after the course they can start film editing on their own. COURSE OUTLINE:
OBJECTIVE: To introduce students to the world of digital video camera handling, lighting and sound. It is also aimed at improving their skills in handling the camera and understanding it’s functions.
COURSE CONTENTS: If digital video technology will be acceptable as a format of movie making, it must be handled by professionals who will be capable of bridging the gap between it and celluloid. This course brings a couple of seasoned cameramen and directors of photography to reveal the secrets of using digital video to take the place of celluloid.

C. CHRISTIAN MUSIC MINISTRY TECHNIQUES AND PRODUCTIONS
MUSIC THEORY
A study of the rudiments of music including note reading, recognition of tones and semi-tones (chromatic and diatonic), melodic and harmonic intervals, major, minor, and chromatic scales, and rhythm patterns.
APPLIED KEYBOARDING
A course designed to teach beginner piano. Students will be able to play chords with both hands, read music and play with correct rhythm, dynamics, and phrasing.
PLAYING BY EAR
Students will learn how to play piano by ear using a step-by-step curriculum that will teach the Nashville Number System. Pupils will learn the 3 major and 3 minor chords in the first 3 keys using Contemporary, Slow & Fast Gospel rhythms.
BASIC VOCAL TECHNIQUES
The study of the vocal apparatus and vocal techniques used in good vocal production. Vocal exercises are included. The goals will be to develop the vocal range to a higher level and tone and expression in singing.
PRINCIPLES OF WORSHIP
A scriptural exploration of the principles of worship, and how to effectively lead people into the presence of God
MUSIC MINISTRY IN THE CHURCH
This course will provide a study of the needs, problems, and skills necessary to the administration of the music program of the local church. Information will be provided to better equip individuals in the areas of planning the worship service, and leading choirs, bands, etc.
BEGINNER DRUMS & BASS
A practical study of the basics of Drumming & Bass patterns, which will enable students to play on an introductory level as well as give direction to band members in the future. Those interested in furthering their Drum/Bass expertise can do so through private lessons.
CHORALE
A mixed choral group selected from auditioned members of the NCC student body. The chorale sings at church services, special events, and travels on selected weekends during the school year. The repertoire includes both acappella and accompanied numbers covering a spectrum of religious and gospel styles. Students will also be involved in the yearly production of a CD.
MUSIC THEORY
A study of Major, Minor, & Diminished Seventh chords, along with Augmented, & Suspended Chords. Ear training to recognize harmonic & melodic intervals and chord progressions.
APPLIED KEYBOARDING
A continuation of Applied Keyboarding 1. Students will play on an intermediate level.
PLAYING BY EAR
A continuation of Playing By Ear 1. Pupils will learn to play interesting chord progressions using Diminished Seventh chords, Augmented, & Suspended Chords, in 9 keys.
PEDAGOGY
A study of the philosophies and techniques used in teaching piano by note. The purpose is to develop musicians who are able to instruct and motivate students in the learning process. Students will be required to teach during the 1st Year Applied Keyboarding Classes. Class will be divided into two parts: Instruction & Tutoring beginners.
SONGWRITING
A study of the techniques of creative writing of religious music in various styles. Students will be able to analyze the lyrics of songs and be able to write songs individually and collaboratively.
CHORALE
A mixed choral group selected from auditioned members of the NCC student body. The chorale sings at church services, special events, and travels on selected weekends during the school year. The repertoire includes both acappella and accompanied numbers covering a spectrum of religious and gospel styles. Students will also be involved in the production of a CD.

A study of Ninth, Eleventh, Thirteenth, and Altered chords. Ear training to recognize harmonic & melodic intervals and chord progressions.
APPLIED KEYBOARDING
A continuation of Applied Keyboarding 2. Students will play on an advanced level.
PLAYING BY EAR
A continuation of Playing By Ear 2. Pupils will learn to play interesting chord progressions using Ninth, Eleventh, Thirteenth and Altered chords in all 12 keys.
ORGAN -
A course designed to teach the fundamentals of setting up an organ and creating new registrations. Students will be able to play chords with both hands, with correct rhythm, dynamics, and phrasing. Instruction will be given in playing background music, and playing for various types of services (i.e. weddings, funerals, graduations). Also an exploration of different styles of organ playing will be conducted.
CHORAL ARRANGING
This course teaches basic concepts of arranging for choirs. Special emphasis will be placed on the "Pentecostal “choir. Upon completion, the student will know vocal ranges for SATB, and how to arrange a song with a desired emotional effect, and be capable of writing choir parts from listening to a recording.
MUSICIAN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
A course to enable the musician/artist to understand him/herself and their God-given purpose. In this study we seek to develop our character and spirituality in the field of music ministry. An open look at issues in today's music ministry and the solutions that the Bible provides to promote spiritual growth.

What is Christian leadership? Who is a leader? This course enables students to answer these questions through the lens of Jesus Christ.
The Christian Leadership course at ACCM is designed to help those involved in various areas of Christian leadership and ministry to be better equipped to take on the wide variety of challenges and opportunities leadership provides. Students will be led through the foundational aspects and implications of leadership, and encouraged to explore and reflect on the many dimensions Christian leadership encompasses and challenged to find ways of applying what they learn to their own areas of service to God and his people.

OverviewIn this course, Dr. Tim Sisk asks students to consider church planting as participation in the mission of the church. MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY IN MINISTRY
I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
A broad study of the various types of mass communication media and technology and their practical use in evangelism and local church ministry. Provides the student with a set of contemporary media technology skills compatible with post-modern Christianity.
II. COURSE GOAL
This course will enable the student to learn and use contemporary media technology skills compatible with post-modern Christianity.

A. Terminal Objectives
As a result of successfully completing this course, the student will be able to do the following:
1. Summarize the way the major mass media systems operate in the Nigeria and Africa. Radio, TV, print, film, and internet.
2. Identify some fundamental differences between private noncommercial, private commercial, government commercial, and government noncommercial operations of mass media systems.
3. Work with the media to identify each category of Jesus' teaching and preaching of the gospel of the kingdom as cited in the four Gospels.
4. Summarize the main ways the mass media have been used for evangelism in the last quarter century.
5. Teach biblical lessons with multimedia tools.
6. Demonstrate a moderate level of ability to use technology in ministry.
B. Unit Objectives
As a result of successfully completing this unit, the student will be able to do the following:
1. Critically evaluate in writing various mass media ministries based upon the level of actual Gospel content.
2. Present a speech using multimedia tools to teach a biblical lesson.
3. Participate in a team to create a presentation designed to market a fictitious media group using PowerPoint and website design.

It introduces students to aspects of translation of Biblical Hebrew as well as the main lexical aids. • BITH 4376 The Psalms-Songs of Israel and the Church A study of the spiritual and literary legacy of the book of Psalms. The collection will be analyzed according to literary types, and the individual psalms studied according to their type and content. HIS 5478 Intertestamental History A survey of intertestamental history from 600 to 5 B.C. with special attention given to the literature of the period as a theological bridge between the Old and New Covenants. Trinitarian issues will be discussed, as well as an emphasis on the Spirit’s cosmic work. Additionally, this course aims to encourage a deeper understanding of the Spirit’s role in our lives.3 Units

• BITH 4405 Pastoral Theology I, II-Pastoral Theology examines the practical application of theology in the pastoral context. This class seeks to approach a practical theological expression to the ministry of the Pastor.3 Units per class
• BITH 6552 Church Growth- Independent studies into Church growth. Permission by College to enter into class 3 Units
• BITH 3336 Cultural Studies- Independent Studies into a specific culture. Permission by College to enter into class. 3 Units
