CHURCH ADMINISTRATION AND MANGEMENT
Course Description
Introduction
to church administration and management of non- profit organizations. It is
designed to inform and educate students regarding management principles,
procedures, techniques, theory, and practice for leading and managing churches
and non-profit organizations. The course applies a problem-solving approach to
the subjects of management, administration, supervision, organization,
leadership, church government, finance, and legal issues relevant to ministers
and lay leaders.

Upon
completion of the course, students will be able to:

and apply relevant Bible passages, (especially from Pauline letters) that form
a theological basis for good management, administration, and supervision of the
local church and related ministries.

CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP
What
is Christian leadership? Who is a leader? This course enables students to
answer these questions through the lens of Jesus Christ.
The
Christian Leadership course at united Christian bible university is designed to
help those involved in various areas of Christian leadership and ministry to be
better equipped to take on the wide variety of challenges and opportunities
leadership provides. Students will be led through the foundational aspects and
implications of leadership, and encouraged to explore and reflect on the many
dimensions Christian leadership encompasses and challenged to find ways of
applying what they learn to their own areas of service to God and his people.

Purpose of the Course
The purpose of this course is to provide the student
with the basics of Christian leadership and administration build around servant and transformational
leadership principles.
Core Value Focus
The course will emphasize the seminary’s current
core value focus assigned
annually by the Administrative Council.
This year’s core value focus
is Characteristic Excellence.
Curriculum
This course will address the following curriculum competencies:
1.
Biblical exposition: The student will discover
passages of Scripture that will address biblical foundations for leadership in the local church or Christian ministry setting .
2.
Theological and historical perspective: The course will provide
a systematic and historical progression of church leadership and ministry as it has evolved to the requirements today.
3.
Effective servant leadership: The course is designed not only
to teach about servant leadership but
also to encourage the student to practice this leadership style.
4.
Interpersonal relationships: The course contains a strong
emphasis on interpersonal skills as a vital
aspect of leadership and administration.
5.
Disciple making: In this course, students are
encouraged to understand that the ultimate purpose of leadership is transforming.
6.
Worship leadership: The course does not directly
address worship leadership, however the
leadership principles discussed
will relate to any
venue of ministry in the local
church.
7.
Spiritual and character formation: Students are taught that ministry leadership and administration should
flow out of a transformational walk with Jesus Christ.
Course Description
This course will focus on a study of the
servant leadership model as a basis for personal concepts of church and Christian
ministry. By combining
the requisite skills for a biblical concept
of church administration, the student will explore
appropriate models and formulate their personal leadership and administration style for Christian
ministry.
Learning Objectives
By the
completion of the course,
each student will be able to;
1. Identify from Scripture biblical
concepts for leadership in the local church and Christian ministry
venue, and analyze these practices in terms of a biblical worldview.
2.
Develop an understanding of the leadership principles found in Transformational/Servant Leadership and how they integrate in the management of the local church
or Christian ministry venue.
3. Know and
make application of the administrative principles and practices to the
planning, organizing, leading and evaluating the ministries of the local church
or Christian ministry organization.
4.
Develop an understanding of how the
leadership and administrative practices in the course apply to the principle church administrative arenas of personnel, finance,
and property.
5.
Integrate and synthesize responses to
situational studies relating to leadership and administration in the local church or Christian ministry setting.
006. MEDIA IN MINISTRY
The church
is experiencing a time of profound change in communication. More and more often
churches use new technologies to transmit and communicate the message of the
Gospel and it is done in an ever more creative way. Not only that, but also
church activities are often shared to a wider audience via social media.
Through the Media Creative Ministry we provide the basic knowledge about
different communication methods (video, audio, photography) that are useful for
the church in this area. The programme is structured in such a way that the
student learns to use P.A. systems, cameras and video cameras. During the year
they are assigned a number of projects which give them the opportunity to put
into practice the knowledge acquired.
A. WRTING TECHNIQUES
In this
course, students explore a range of creative writing genres, including fiction,
poetry, creative nonfiction, drama, and multimedia writing. They study examples
of classic and contemporary selections, apply what they learn to their own
writing, and develop proficiency in the writing process. They learn to evaluate
the writings of others and apply evaluation criteria to their own work. By the
end of the course, students will have created a well-developed portfolio of
finished written works.

B. BOOK PUBLISHING
Digital and
E-Book Publishing
This course will provide a history of digital books
and context for understanding how digital advances and eBooks have affected the
publishing industry, consumer habits, and reading. The course exposes
students to practical wisdom from experts across the publishing and book
industry. Students will learn about eBook production and design; SEO and
metadata; digital and online marketing; social media; audio books, and sales.
Students will write a reader’s report, a response-paper to an audio book, and
create a design memo. For their final group project students will edit,
distribute and market an original eBook across platforms, and present their
collaborative work at “sales conference” at the end of the semester.
Introduction
to Publishing
This required course offers students a dynamic overview of the book publishing
industry, including book acquisitions, editing, design and production,
sales, marketing, advertising, corporate management, law and finance.
Publishing
Practicum
Students simulate the complete book-publishing process from contract
negotiations to bound book. Prerequisite: Introduction to Publishing.
Books for Young
Readers
A look at the world of publishing for children and young adults. Licensing,
merchandising, sales and marketing to all age groups and reader categories will
be discussed. Includes substantial reading of children's titles.
The Editorial
Process
An in-depth look at the editorial process from a corporate and
employment-seeking perspective. Includes visits from authors and industry
professionals.
Fundamentals of Copyediting and proofreading
An intensive course focusing on a variety of texts including fiction,
nonfiction, cookbooks and references. Students will employ universal
copyediting/proofreading symbols in type-marking manuscripts and learn design
coding; drafting of style sheets; querying; and preparing a manuscript for
author review, etc. Prerequisite or co-requisite: Introduction to
Publishing.
Legal Issues in
Publishing and the Arts
A course covering the crucial clauses in an author-publisher contract;
intellectual property issues; the First Amendment; general copyright matters;
defamation; invasion of privacy; obscenity; and internet copyright
issues.
C. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Digital Photography is a yearlong
introduction to the digital camera as an art-making tool designed for students
at the beginning level. The course will use digital photography to help
students learn and apply the basic elements of art and the principles of
design. This course will also provide students with opportunities to extend
their knowledge and skills in the field of photography and the use of Adobe
Photoshop and Light room. Digital Photography will familiarize the student with
digital photographic equipment, materials, methods, and processes. Visual
problem solving skills are explored through the use of the computer as the main
tool for creative expression and communication. Cell phone photography and
editing with a variety of phone applications will be infused in the curriculum.
Students create their own blog sites as a place to exhibit their projects and
portfolio work. Self promotion of student photography is encouraged and
beginning social media marketing is introduced. Students can earn certifications
in the field of digital photography. Course is articulated with Chaffey College
and San Bernardino Valley College.

Have you discovered the unique
purpose God has for your life? What drives you? Who are the people you most
want to help? What cause are you passionate about?
An environment which promotes individual
learning helps develop knowledge and skills as well as identifying areas where
growth is needed in order to fulfil the call of God. This is the purpose of the
Creative Ministry module which provides hands-on experience and the opportunity
to apply Bible principles in practical and focused ways.
The Creative Ministry takes
place once a week and you will have the option to choose one of the following

A study of the rudiments of music including

and chromatic scales,
and rhythm patterns.
APPLIED KEYBOARDING
A course
designed to teach beginner
piano. Students will be able to play chords with both hands,
read music and play with correct rhythm,
dynamics, and phrasing.
PLAYING BY EAR
Students
will learn how to play piano by ear using a step-by-step curriculum that will
teach the Nashville Number System.
Pupils will learn
the 3 major and 3 minor chords in the first 3 keys using
Contemporary, Slow & Fast Gospel
rhythms.
BASIC VOCAL
TECHNIQUES
The study of the vocal
apparatus and vocal techniques used in good vocal production. Vocal exercises are included. The goals will be to
develop the vocal range to a higher level and tone and expression in singing.
PRINCIPLES OF WORSHIP
A scriptural exploration of the principles of worship, and how to effectively lead people into the presence
of God
MUSIC MINISTRY IN THE CHURCH
This course will provide a study of the
needs, problems, and skills necessary to the administration of the music
program of the local church. Information will be provided
to better equip individuals
in the areas of planning the worship service,
and leading choirs,
bands, etc.
BEGINNER DRUMS & BASS
A practical
study of the basics of Drumming & Bass patterns, which will enable students
to play on an introductory level
as well as give direction
to band members
in the future. Those interested in furthering their
Drum/Bass expertise can do so through private lessons.
CHORALE

choral group selected from auditioned members of the NCC student body. The
chorale sings at church services,
special events, and travels on selected weekends
during the school year. The repertoire includes both acappella and accompanied
numbers covering a spectrum of religious and gospel styles. Students
will also be involved in the yearly production of a CD.

PEDAGOGY
A study of
the philosophies and techniques used in teaching piano by note. The purpose is
to develop musicians who are able to instruct
and motivate students in the learning process. Students will be required
to teach during the 1st Year Applied
Keyboarding Classes. Class will be divided into two parts:
Instruction & Tutoring beginners.
SONGWRITING
A study of the techniques of creative writing
of religious music in various
styles. Students will be able to analyze the lyrics of songs and be able to
write songs individually and collaboratively.

ORGAN -
A course
designed to teach the fundamentals of setting up an organ and creating
new registrations. Students will be able to play chords with
both hands, with correct rhythm, dynamics, and phrasing. Instruction will be given in playing background music, and
playing for various types of services (i.e. weddings,
funerals, graduations). Also an exploration of different styles of organ
playing will be conducted.
CHORAL ARRANGING
This course teaches basic
concepts of arranging for choirs. Special emphasis will be placed on the "Pentecostal “choir. Upon completion, the student will know vocal ranges for SATB, and how to arrange a song with a desired
emotional effect, and be capable
of writing choir
parts from listening
to a recording.
MUSICIAN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
A course to enable the musician/artist to
understand him/herself and their God-given purpose. In this study we seek to develop our character
and spirituality in the field of music ministry. An open look at issues in today's
music ministry and the solutions
that the Bible provides to promote spiritual
growth.

Course Description
Introduction
to church administration and management of non- profit organizations. It is
designed to inform and educate students regarding management principles,
procedures, techniques, theory, and practice for leading and managing churches
and non-profit organizations. The course applies a problem-solving approach to
the subjects of management, administration, supervision, organization,
leadership, church government, finance, and legal issues relevant to ministers
and lay leaders.

is Christian leadership? Who is a leader? This course enables students to
answer these questions through the lens of Jesus Christ.
The
Christian Leadership course at ACCM is designed to help those involved in
various areas of Christian leadership and ministry to be better equipped to
take on the wide variety of challenges and opportunities leadership provides.
Students will be led through the foundational aspects and implications of leadership,
and encouraged to explore and reflect on the many dimensions Christian

Overview
In this course, Dr. Tim Sisk asks students to
consider church planting as participation in the mission of the church. He
establishes the biblical foundation for church planting as a work of the Spirit
to call and empower believers to participate in the Great Commission in this
specific missional way. He looks at the methods and models used in biblical
examples of church planting and examine church planting throughout history.

MEDIA AND
TECHNOLOGY IN MINISTRY
I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
A
broad study of the various types of mass communication media and technology and
their practical use in evangelism and local church ministry. Provides the
student with a set of contemporary media technology skills compatible with
post-modern Christianity.
II. COURSE GOAL
This
course will enable the student to learn and use contemporary media technology
skills compatible with post-modern Christianity.
III. STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR THIS COURSE
A. Terminal Objectives
As
a result of successfully completing this course, the student will be able to do
the following:
1. Summarize the way the major mass media
systems operate in the Nigeria and Africa. Radio, TV, print, film, and
internet.
2. Identify some fundamental differences
between private noncommercial, private commercial, government commercial, and
government noncommercial operations of mass media systems.
3. Work with the media to identify each
category of Jesus' teaching and preaching of the gospel of the kingdom as cited
in the four Gospels.
4. Summarize the main ways the mass media
have been used for evangelism in the last quarter century.
5. Teach biblical lessons with multimedia
tools.
6. Demonstrate a moderate level of ability
to use technology in ministry.
B. Unit Objectives
As
a result of successfully completing this unit, the student will be able to do
the following:
1. Critically evaluate in writing various
mass media ministries based upon the level of actual Gospel content.
2. Present a speech using multimedia tools
to teach a biblical lesson.
3. Participate in a team to create a
presentation designed to market a fictitious media group using PowerPoint and
website design.

The following program aims to prepare students for service in the church
as pulpit ministers, Youth/Children's Pastor, elders, deacons,
missionaries/church planters, and Bible teachers. Also, this program helps
prepare students for allied Christian leadership positions in youth services or
as ministers of education at large congregations or chaplains in hospitals, the
armed forces, and correctional institutions
THE FOLLOWING ARE KEY PROGRAM AIMS:
• To provide breadth of
acquaintance with the disciplines/subject areas that make up the academic study
of Christian 'theology', including the scholarly issues and approaches
involved, and more advanced study/knowledge of selected disciplines/subject
areas, according to the student's interests, abilities and preferences;
• To orient students to
Christianity as a 'world religion', through a historical approach that takes
account of Christianity in various cultures;
• To provide students with
opportunities to reflect on Christianity's historic and continuing encounter
with other major world religions;
• To develop students'
experience and abilities in researching, comprehension, analysis, critical
thinking, and oral and written communication;
• For those hoping/intending to
enter the ordained ministry of Christian churches, to provide rounded academic
training to equip them for reflective practice of ministry;
• To equip students for ordained
ministry or a variety of other appropriate careers or further academic study.

An overview of the Old Testament, tracing its teaching with respect to
historical background and literary character.4 Units
• BITH 1222 Spiritual Formation
In this class Spiritual formation will seek the shaping process with reference
to the spiritual dimension of a person's life. Christian spiritual formation
thus refers to the process by which believers become more fully conformed and
united to Christ. 3 Units
• GEO 8811- Geography of the
Holy Land- An investigation into Historical Geography of the Holy Land,
Especially in Relation to the History of Israel and of the Early Church 3 Units
• HIS 1398 New Testament Survey
An overview of the New Testament, tracing its teaching with respect to

BITH 2398 Old Testament Theology an investigation into Old Testament
Theology emphasizing the Mosaic Cult, Prophetism and Judaism 3

• BITH 2396 New Testament
Theology- A study in New Testament Theology will cover a branch of the
Christian disciplines which traces themes through the authors of the NT and
then amalgamates those individual motifs into a single comprehensive whole.
Thus it studies the progressive revelation of God in terms of the life
situation at the time of writing and the delineates the underlying thread which
ties it together.3 Units
• BITH 4576 Systematic Theology
I. A critical investigation into the content and contemporary significance of
the Christian faith, emphasizing biblical foundations, philosophic
presuppositions and comprehensiveness.3 Units
• EN 5400-Principles of Rhetoric
An introductory writing course that includes instruction in practical reasoning
and the principles of rhetoric. 3 Units
• BITH 5476-Theology of
Soteriology- The Soteriology of the New Testament is a critical investigation
into the content of "Salvation" that Jesus has provided for mankind.
3 Units
3465 INTRODUCTION TO BIBLICAL HEBREW. Introduction to Biblical Hebrew
covers some essential elements of the grammar of Biblical Hebrew and introduces
some basic vocabulary. It introduces students to aspects of translation of
Biblical Hebrew as well as the main lexical aids. On completion of the subject
students should be able to translate basic nominal and verbal sentences.3 Units
• BITH 4376 The Psalms-Songs of
Israel and the Church A study of the spiritual and literary legacy of the book
of Psalms. The collection will be analyzed according to literary types, and the
individual psalms studied according to their type and content. The use of
Psalms in the history of the Church as a vehicle of worship will be a daily
devotional focus to begin each class 3 Units
HIS 5478 Intertestamental History A survey of intertestamental history from 600
to 5 B.C. with special attention given to the literature of the period as a
theological bridge between the Old and New Covenants. Areas of study include OT
Apocrypha and selections from the OT Pseudepigrapha, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and
rabbinic Judaism. 3 Units
• PIL 6534 Introduction to
Christian Logic- A Study in Christian logic will study both classical
syllogism; and modern logic which is the study, primarily, of the
calculus of propositions 3 Units
• BITH 4522 Old Testament Wisdom
Literature. A selection from the Old Testament wisdom books, Job, Proverbs,
Ecclesiastes, Songs of Solomon, and Lamentations, The apocryphal books of Jesus
ben Sirach and the Wisdom of Solomon may also be read and studied in relation
to canonical wisdom. 3 Units
• BITH 7876 Pauline Theology-A
study of the life and thought of Paul as found in the book of Acts and in
Paul’s New Testament letters. The course will synthesize the major categories
of Pauline thought and emphasize their value for faith today. 3 Units The

Armianism Theology- Reading and analysis of the Institutes of the Christian
Religion, emphasizing Calvin's method, material arrangement, and biblical
theological content compared to John Armians Theological content. Elective 3

BITH 5678 Theology in Paul's First Epistle to the Corinthians A
section-by-section survey of 1 Corinthians dealing with the issues of the
nature of the Church, Christian behavior and social responsibility, sexuality,
marriage and divorce, Christian worship, the spiritual gifts, and the
resurrection. 3 Units
BITH 5543 Theology in the Acts of the Apostles A study of the Book of Acts
focused on the birth and development of the apostolic church, its dissociation
from Judaism, and the progress of the missionary enterprise. 3 Units Footsteps

HIS 9977 Perspectives From Church History I- Examines the key figures, events
and ideas from the Apostolic age to the Reformation in Christian history and
places them in context. 3 Units
• MUS 8778 Introduction to
Hymnology- An introductory class of hymnology with an investigation of hymns.
songs and Spiritual songs will be the primary focus of this class. 3 Units
• BITH 4388 Introduction to
Apologetics- Introduction to Christian apologetics is a defense to answering
any and all critics who oppose or question the revelation of God in Christ and
the Bible 3 Units
• BITH 6677 Pneumatology -An
investigation of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit, with reference to the
biblical foundations and significant historical and contemporary developments.
Trinitarian issues will be discussed, as well as an emphasis on the Spirit’s
cosmic work. Additionally, this course aims to encourage a deeper understanding
of the Spirit’s role in our lives.3 Units
• BITH 7733 Biblical
Interpretation and Hermeneutics. A survey of hermeneutical theory discussing
how author, text, and reader work together as meaning emerges from a text.
These insights will then be applied to the Bible, giving the student an
interpretive strategy for exegete biblical texts and bringing their meaning
into the modern world. 3 Units
• LANG 1220- Introduction to
Latin- Using Wheelocks Latin this class will cover some essential elements of
the grammar of Latin and introduces some basic vocabulary. On completion
of the subject students should be able to translate basic nominal and verbal

• PHI 9942- Introduction to
Christian Philosophy-An Introduction to Christian Philosophy. tries to
set forth not only a critique of non-Christian philosophies, but a positive
construction based on Scripture alone. Because Christian philosophy is unique,
and is based entirely on propositional revelation. 3 Units
• PC 2234-Personal
Foundations-Focused on the importance of self-understanding for spiritual and
emotional well-being as well as effective ministry to hurting people, an
investigation of the impact of personal and family history on theological
outlook, emotional congruence, relational attractions and moral decisions.
Several personal assessments as well as one or more therapy sessions are an
integral part of this course.(this class is only available by textbook which

• BITH 4563 Systematic Theology
II A continuation of a critical investigation into the content and contemporary
significance of the Christian faith, emphasizing biblical foundations,
philosophic presuppositions and comprehensiveness. 3 Units
• HIS 3452 Reformation and
Modern Church History-The study of Christianity from the Reformation to the
present, with source material readings. Also the development of Christian
thought and apply church history to contemporary ideas and issues. The course
also includes a brief overview of historic revivals and world missions. 3

Greek Introduction to New Testament Greek covers some essential elements of the
grammar of Greek and introduces some basic vocabulary. It introduces students

Sacraments- Preaching of the Word we nourish the faith the Spirit begat in us
first by assembling together with other Christians to hear the word of God
preached to us. This is the ordinary means the Lord works faith in us, a means

Receiving of the Sacraments which Jesus commanded us to partake of "till

World Missions The nature of Christian outreach; a study of principles,
history, and methodology of worldwide missions 3 Units

Exegesis A practical study of the procedures for doing sound exegesis in the
various portions of the Old Testament. The method will include the study
of words, poetics, textual criticism, syntax, biblical theology, and practical

Greek Grammar Introduction to Greek Grammar covers some essential elements of
the grammar of Greek and introduces some basic Syntax, Mood and Tense. For
learners with beginning Ancient Greek experience, this Class provides excellent

explores the foundations of marriage and marital conflict from Scriptural and
psychological perspectives. Reviews approaches to counseling and explores

intensive study of significant aspects of the church related to its nature,
purpose and Government. Particular attention directed to current problematic

BITH 4278 The Greek Text of Romans: Text
Critical Study. Using the textbook and the textual notes in the lectures,
construct an exegesis (of 10 pages) on a segment of Romans of your choosing. 3

various church planting models and strategies used around the world. Identifies
key factors which the church planter can implement in a context specific,

Apologetics- Advanced apologetics is a continuation of a defense to answering

Pastoral Care and Counseling Explores ministry to people who request counseling
in church and Para-church contexts. Starting with relationship building skills,
students will discover their limits in help-giving, and learn appropriate
referral process. Much of the course focus will then be an exploration of

Millennial Views A careful and intensive study of the three main eschatological
views relative to the millennium system; consideration of the leading

Counseling This course moves beyond learning relationship skills to developing
skills that help people with the realization of physical, spiritual, emotional
and moral issues in their lives. Secondly, there is a focus on skills that help
people take responsibility for the awareness they have gained. The spiritual

• BITH 4405 Pastoral Theology I,
II-Pastoral Theology examines the practical application of theology in the
pastoral context. This class seeks to approach a practical theological
